Focus on Producers

Focus on Producers

Activities supporting persons pursuing production professions in the field of theatre and performing arts in the context of international cooperation.
The program aims to implement some of the proposals formulated in the report Producers as Central Figures in the Ecosystem in the Theatre and Performing Arts, published in May 2025 by the Theatre Institute. One of the report’s recommendations is the recognition of production professions as key professions in the theatre events and projects production, and the recommendation to include the persons performing these professions in systemic strategies to prevent burnout.

The Focus on Producers includes development, residency, and well-being activities for producers working in the field of the theatre and performing arts in the context of international cooperation. This focus aligns with the Institute’s other activities supporting professions that are crucial for international cooperation, such as translators and playwrights.

The program, with a new opportunity launching in autumn 2025, encourages shared reflection on current issues in cultural policy, including sustainable production, ecology, and regional cooperation. It also aims to map the needs and areas of interest of producers working internationally or those seeking to develop international projects and productions more intensively. We invite you to participate in seminars with international guest speakers, networking events, and individual professional consultations. More information, including Q&A, is available on the application website.

Drawing on the activities of international and local production networks, as well as the contribution of individuals actively expanding the field of reflection related to production work, we invite you to network and reflect on the experience of working as a theatre and performing arts producer in Poland.
