Sixteen entries were submitted to the competition for the concept and production of the Student Exhibition at the 16th Prague Quadrennial. The proposals were formally assessed and approved for the subject-matter assessment stage. The jury selected Olga Galińska’s project Heart for production.

On 6 May 2026, the jury of the competition for the concept and production of the Student Exhibition at the 16th Prague Quadrennial 2027 convened at the Theatre Institute. The jury comprised the following members: Simone De Iacobis, Anna Galas-Kosil, Paweł Janicki, Małgorzata Kuciewicz, Natalia Kitamikado, Ksenia Makała, and Agata Skwarczyńska.

The jury commended the authors for addressing socially significant themes and for the high standard of their submissions. Following deliberations, the jury unanimously selected and recommended for production the work Heart by Olga Galińska, a graduate of the Costume Design Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.

“The work responds coherently to the competition brief and the curatorial theme of the upcoming edition of the Prague Quadrennial. It has potential for further development, takes risks, and is a bold experimental proposition. Particularly noteworthy are the author’s distinctive visual language and the ecological dimension of the materials chosen. The physical model aided the reception of the concept. The work moves from the somatic to the symbolic without the mediation of language, which translates into effective communication with an international audience. It engages multiple senses and creates an enclosed interior within the event hall, allowing focus to be drawn to the narrative.”

Four equal honourable mentions were also awarded to the following works: Hysteria by Kamila Silicka, a graduate of the Set Design Faculty at the Academy of Art in Szczecin; The Unrecognised by Łukasz Mleczak, a student of the Stage Design Faculty at the University of the Arts in Poznań, You Can’t Play with Us by Zuzanna Kundys, a student of the Stage Design Faculty at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw; and A Non-place by Wiktoria Ligęza, a student of the Stage Design Faculty at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.

The Polish Student Exhibition at the PQ 2027 will be held in Prague on 8–17 June 2027. More information about the PQ 2027 is available here.

The project is developed by the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute as part of the Prague Quadrennial 2027 Main Programme.

“Implementation of the project of the 16th edition of the Prague Quadrennial” is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
