THE RESULTS OF THE CALL FOR TRANSLATORS OF DRAMATIC TEXTS (PL-CZ) ARE IN

The selected translator who will work on translating Daria Sobik’s drama 'Exhausted' ('Zmęczone') is Barbora Kolouchova.

The jury panel evaluating applications in the call for a translation residency in Warsaw within the framework of the international “Drama Revival” project selected Barbora Kolouchova to participate in the residency project consisting in the translation of Daria Sobik’s drama Exhausted (Zmęczone).

 

The jury panel was composed of:

– Krystyna Mogilnicka, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute;
– Martina Pecková Černá, Head of the Department of International Relations of the Theatre Institute – Art Institute in Prague (for personal reasons, she could not be present at the meeting but sent her assessment, which was included in the overall score);
– Jitka Rohanová, a representative of the Polish Institute in Prague;
– Daria Sobik, author of the drama Exhausted;
– Petr Vlček, Director of the Czech Centre in Warsaw;
– Karolina Dziełak-Żakowska, manager of the Translation Residency project.

Barbora Kolouchová (Gregorová) – Czech translator, columnist, and writer. She translates from Polish and Russian. She studied at Prague’s Charles University. Her work includes translations of Dorota Masłowska’s texts: Snow White and Russian Red, The Queen’s Spew, All’s Good Between Us, A Couple of Poor, Polish-speaking Romanians, Foreign Language by Maria Wojtyszko, and Gnój by Wojciech Kuczok. She has also translated the subtitles for Krzysztof Warlikowski’s drama We are leaving (Nowy Teatr from Warsaw) for the National Theatre in Prague. In 2001, she was awarded the Josef Jungmann Prize for her translation of Prcek by Miroslav Nahacz. She plays the saxophone and sings in the musical group Yenisei.
