Cántame directed by Trevor Meier documents the work of Argentinean actor, musician, and theatre director Alejandro Tomás Rodriguez with the Buenos Aires theatre ensemble Casa Talcahuano.
Does the body share a song, or does the song share a body? Actors in a small neighborhood theatre in Buenos Aires sing through ancient songs, following their vibration into movement. Reaching beyond action, Cántame is a document of an extraordinary process and a celebration of communal expression. This poetic film sings to us as we witness the thin veil between participation and creation fall in the process of essential theatre.
Screening will be followed by a Q&A with the artists: Trevor Meier, Alejandro Tomás Rodriguez in conversation with Dominika Laster.
