The Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute invites Polish-Czech translators to participate in a translation residency within the framework of the international project Drama Revival. The application deadline is 13 June, and the residency will take place in Warsaw from 18 to 29 August.
During the residency, the selected translator will work on translating Daria Sobik’s play Exhausted (Zmęczone) with the support of a mentor. The residency is organised in cooperation with the Czech Centre in Warsaw, the Polish Institute in Prague and the Arts and Theatre Institute in Prague.
The Residency for Translators of Dramatic Texts (PL-CZ) aims to develop skills in translating contemporary drama for the stage. The selected translator will receive reimbursement for travel expenses, free accommodation in the centre of Warsaw, a workspace, mentoring, per diems, and a fee for translating the play Exhausted by Daria Sobik.
The residency is part of the international Drama Revival project which promotes contemporary drama in Central and Eastern Europe.
To apply for the residency, please submit the application form, which includes a short letter of motivation on why you wish to apply for the residency, a CV or biography. Please attach to your application a translation of an extract from the play Exhausted (Zmęczone) by Daria Sobik in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. The deadline for applications is 13 June 2024.
