On 20 June, we welcomed a group of translators of Polish literature to the Institute as guests of a study visit. The visit was organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the third edition of an international programme of literary events accompanying the foreign cultural programme of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025.

The event featured networking and training. Its concept arose from the need to emphasise the critical role that literary translators play in promoting the work of Polish authors abroad, acting as ambassadors of Polish culture.

Krystyna Mogilnicka talked about the Theatre Institute’s efforts to increase the visibility of translators in theatre, while the activities of the Theatre Documentation Department and the Prospero bookshop were presented by Monika Żytkowiak and Jolanta Żmijewska.

The Theatre Institute partnered with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Book Institute and Otwarta Pracownia Jazdów to organise the event.
